Road reopens after stormwater utility crew hits an unmarked gas line in downtown Columbia

UPDATE 1:54:Officials on scene told our ABC 17 News crew on scene astorm water utility crew hit an unmarked gas line. They say it was accidental. ABC 17 News crews drove through the area and say the road is now reopened.

ORIGINAL: Columbia police and fire officials are currently investigating a gas odor and possible leak downtown.

The odor is being investigated on the 1000 block of Broadway. Ninth Street to Hitt Street is currently closed, as well as the intersection of Tenth Street and Broadway. Columbia police are assisting with traffic control.
