Mid-Missouri man charged with felony stalking

A Boone County court has issued a warrant for a Columbia man accused of stalking.

35-year-old Martin Edmiston was charged Tuesday in Boone County with five felonies; including aggravated stalking and first-degree burglary.

According to court documents obtained by ABC 17 News, Edmiston was served a protection order on behalf of the victim by Boone County deputies in late May.

Edmiston continued to contact the victim through email and phone calls.

On June 10, Columbia Police responded to the woman’s home after Edmiston went inside to continue an argument that started in a vehicle. Officers found Edmiston hidden in a closet with a white substance that tested positive for methamphetamine.

Investigators also found needles, one which tested positive for meth, that belonged to Edmiston in a jointly owned pickup truck with the victim.

Once arrested, Edmiston will be held without bond.
