Tracking a mild end to the week as temperatures warm up

TONIGHT: Mostly clear and chilly with lows in the low 30s. Patchy fog possible by daybreak.

TOMORROW: Mostly sunny and warmer with highs in the mid-upper 50s.

EXTENDED: With warmer air trying to move in overnight into tomorrow, we'll likely see some fog develop in low lying areas and river valleys. Tomorrow afternoon is mild and only slightly cooler than average in the upper 50s with a cool but dry night for playoff football games. You can bring any covered plants back outside for the weekend as overnight temperatures get back above freezing and we see a nice warm up kick in with a shifting upper level pattern. Highs reach the low 60s Saturday and the upper 60s Sunday with sunshine. Next week starts off about 10 degrees warmer than normal on Monday with nearly 70 degrees for the high, but we'll start to see some changes with an active jet stream setting up aloft. A few showers will be possible Tuesday as a weak disturbance rolls in, but we'll see a better shot of more widespread rain late Wednesday into Thursday, and potentially another round on Friday with some colder air settling in by the end of the week. That late week system could bring 1-1.5" of rain and temperatures back down into the low to mid-40s by the end of the week.
