2-year-old who drowned in Pulaski County pool identified

UPDATE 6/20:The Pulaski County Sheriff’s Department identified the toddler who drowned in a Pulaski County pool.

Authorities say the child who died was 2-year-old Paislee Taylor.

The Pulaski County Sheriff’s Department says it is still investigating the incident.

ORIGINAL: A two-year-old female passed away Friday after she was discovered unconscious in a swimming pool late yesterday afternoon.

Authorities say the Pulaski County 911 Communications Center got an emergency call around 5:00 PM Thursday about a possible drowning in the 25700 Block of Recoil Drive in Laquey.

Authorities said when emergency services arrived on scene, they found several adults doing CPR on the toddler. Paramedics from the Pulaski County Ambulance District immediately began resuscitation efforts and transported the victim to General Leonard Wood Army Community Hospital. A short time later the toddler was taken via air ambulance to a children’s hospital, where she passed away Friday morning.

Authorities say according to witness statements, the toddler was left unattended and eventually was able to climb into the pool, where she was found a short time later.

The sheriff’s department says it is investigating the incident. The victim’s name is not yet being released, pending notification to family members.
