Head on collision sends four to the hospital, including 10-year-old

A woman and a 10-year-old boy were seriously injured in a Sunday afternoon car crash in Osage County.

The crash happened around 3:45 p.m. on Highway 28 near Route NN.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol said Steven Snowder, 61, was driving westbound when he tried to pass another car.

As he was passing the car he hit another car traveling eastbound head on.

The driver, Erin Altemeyer, and a 10-year-old passenger were flown to the hospital with serious injuries. An adult passenger in the car was also flown to the hospital with moderate injuries.

Snowder was taken to the hospital with moderate injuries.

According to the crash report, all four people were wearing a seat belt.
