Local night club raises thousands of dollars for Orlando shooting victims

Hundreds gathered at Yin Yang night club in south Columbia Saturday night to show support for the 49 people who lost their lives in the shooting at the Orlando night club last week.

The night club hosted a benefit drag show for the victims and their families. A large portion of the performers’ and bartenders tips will be donated.

Jesse Bailey, club co-owner, said they were expecting a large crowd at the event.

“Love always wins and we get a ton of support here in Columbia,” he said. “Everyone pulls together as a community and supports each other.”

Yin Yang announced Sunday the benefit raised $4,083 for the victims’ families.
