Tracking another cold start to Thursday, slow warm up

TONIGHT: Mostly clear and cold with lows in the low 30s. Frost is likely in most areas, so plan ahead for ice scraping and cover up sensitive plants tonight.

TOMORROW: Mostly sunny and warmer with highs in the lower 50s.

EXTENDED: Temperatures drop to about 30 degrees overnight, and with the growing season effectively done for most areas, this will likely be the last frost/freeze product issued for our area- the freeze warning that is in effect for counties south of Highway 50 until 9:00 a.m. Tomorrow afternoon is a bit warmer with winds picking up from the southwest, getting us into the low 50s. Friday starts off near or just above freezing but we warm into the mid-50s during the day. We'll make it to the low to mid-60s this weekend as the pattern shifts aloft, but we stay dry. Next week certainly looks interesting with a chance for a shower or two on Tuesday with a weak disturbance sliding in, but the better shot of more impactful weather will be Wednesday night into Thursday, with a reinforcing push of precipitation on Friday. We'll see rain and perhaps a few storms on Thursday, but Friday could end up being a cold rain or mixed bag depending on timing and temperatures. All of that said, it is looking much cooler next weekend behind this system once again - potentially highs in the upper 30s/low 40s Friday and Saturday.
