Lincoln University health center staff relocated due to heat

A spokeswoman for Lincoln University says the Thompkins Health Center is closed due to a planned replacement of the chiller for the building’s cooling unit.

With the heat indices this week, officials made the decision to relocate the staff and operations to other areas of campus. The Student Health staff are temporarily located in 208 Scruggs University Center. The mental health counselor has been temporarily moved to Room 304 Founders Hall. A spokeswoman says services of both units are still available.

A spokeswoman for the university says replacement work has been scheduled for this time period for months to avoid too much of a disruption during the regular academic year. She says unfortunately, this week’s unexpected high temperatures created an environment that would not have been in the best interest of our students, nor the staff who serve them.
