Tracking cold, frosty nights ahead

TONIGHT: Mostly clear with a few high clouds south of I-70. Lows in the lower 30s. Frost is likely before sunrise for most areas, so be sure to cover up or bring any sensitive plants inside.

TOMORROW: Mostly sunny and cool. Highs in the upper 40s to around 50.

EXTENDED: Those between I-70 and HWY 50 are in a Freeze Warning through tomorrow morning. Points south of Highway 50 will be in a Freeze Watch through Thursday morning. Nonetheless, we're in for some cold and frosty weather the next few days with lows dropping below 32. After this week, we likely won't see many more frost advisories/freeze warnings as the growing season will have come to an end for most areas in Mid-MO. That said, we DO warm up by the end of the week with highs getting into the low 50s on Friday. Sunshine continues into the weekend, but winds aloft pick up from the southwest, sending us back into the upper 50s to low 60s. Next week starts off very pleasant with temperatures in the mid-60s and we're dry until at least Wednesday or Thursday. That mid-week system will bring our next chance for rain and forecast guidance is hinting at an even more dramatic cool down by next weekend.
