Man arrested for rape in Boone County
A man was still in the Boone County jail Friday morning after he was booked on suspicion of rape.
The Boone County Sheriff’s Department says Richard Williams, 38, turned himself in on a warrant for rape around 3 p.m. Thursday. According to police, Williams gave the victim and her son a ride to their home on Texas Avenue.
After dropping them off, Williams allegedly went inside the home and followed the victim to her bedroom. She says he tried to kiss her, but despite her refusals, she claims he proceeded to rape her.
Information provided by police suggest Williams and the victim are somehow related.
Williams’ bond is set at $100,000.
