One arrest has been made after fleeing the scene of a early morning car crash
UPDATE 6/7 9:40 :One arrest has been made in the crash. Police arrested Quintez Jacobs, the driver of the vehicle.
Authorities tell ABC17 News that it all started when Jacobs strangled a female he was in an intimate relationship with on Rangeline. Jacobs took the female’s car, she was test driving, without permission. He then proceeded to crash the vehicle on Mexico Gravel Road.
He left then scene and was later learned that he had a suspended driver’s license.
He was arrested at 1 Hospital Drive at 7 am. for Felony Tampering with a bond of $4,500, Felony Domestic Assault with a bond of $4,500, Felony leaving the scene of a motor vehicle accidnet with a bond of $4,500 and Misdomener operation of motor vehicle without proper license with a bond of $500.
ORIGINAL STORY:Columbia police say they’re looking for two suspects accused of fleeing the scene after a car crash.
At 2:52 Tuesday morning Columbia police received a call that a car crash happened in the 2900 block of Mexico Gravel Road.
When authorities arrived, no victims were on location. However, the car sustained major damage and air bags were deployed.
Witnesses say they saw a black man wearing a red and white shirt and a female passenger leave the scene.
The search led authorities to Paris and Oakland Gravel Road where they believe the suspect ran off to.
Reports indicated that the car was possibly stolen but police have not confirmed that with ABC 17.
Police are asking for anyone with information to call the Columbia Police Department or Crime Stoppers at 875-TIPS.
