Man arrested for scissor fight west of Columbia
A Columbia area man landed in the Boone County jail early Friday, accused of coming back drunk and assaulting his girlfriend with a pair of scissors. Deputies say Jose Borela-Orellana got home just west of Midway around 2 a.m., before starting a fight.
His girlfriend managed to get a hold of the scissors but was cut on her upper right arm. Officials claim Borela-Orellana then started choking her, punching her in the face several times. A second person at the scene was also assaulted.
Borela-Orellana is due in court Friday afternoon for domestic assault, armed criminal action and unlawful use of a weapon.
