Isolated severe storms possible Saturday

We have a chance of spotty showers or t-storms in parts of Mid-Missouri from Friday through Saturday. A southern storm system will give areas south of I-70 a chance of spotty showers and t-storms Friday afternoon and evening. These would be very hit and miss and many areas will stay dry, especially those north of HWY 50.

Heading into Saturday, we are tracking a cold front which will move in from the northwest which will bring a chance of showers and t-storms in the morning to northwestern Missouri and into early afternoon farther south and east. At this time it looks like the front will move through during the early afternoon and any storms which develop ahead of the front could strengthen enough to produce strong wind gusts or 1″ size hail which is why the Storm Prediction Center put the eastern half of Mid-Missouri in a Marginal Severe Risk for Saturday afternoon. The position of this risk will depend on the speed of the cold front.
