Traffic Alert: I-70 on-ramp at Providence now open

The I70 westbound on-ramp at Providence was reopened Wednesday morning.

It was closed overnight so traffic could be switched to the new I-70 overpass at Garth Avenue.

Last week, MoDOT slid the new Garth bridge into place-with the help of 15 bottles of dishwashing liquid.

Crews are still putting in barrier curbs so there will be nighttime single lane closures of both eastbound and westbound I-70. Those closures are expected to take place through Thursday .

This is all part of the I-70 bridge replacement project. The entire project is scheduled to be finished in September.
