Mizzou offense previews matchup with Vanderbilt
COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)
Following a bye week, the Mizzou football team will look for its first conference win against the Vanderbilt Commodores on Saturday afternoon when the group heads to Nashville, Tenn. Quarterback Connor Bazelak said his offense saw what they need to improve on.
You can watch his full press conference in the video player below.
Last time out - the Tigers put up 328 yards of total offense against Texas A&M, with 230 of those yards coming in the air. While the ground attack could never get rolling, Bazelak said it showed that his offense can move the ball against SEC opponents.
MU will take the field down one offensive number after the team announced senior lineman Case Cook sustained a season-ending injury. Cook will remain with the team in a coaching capacity.
"We know that he's fighting with us even if he's not on the field," fellow offensive lineman Hryin White said.
Players said the biggest adjustment for that offensive line will come in the form of communication, but added that thy do believe they have the guys they need to move forward without Cook on the field.
"Coach Johnson, he mixes up the offensive line a lot, so we kind of all get a feel with certain players," lineman Connor Wood said. "I've been in the mix too throughout the year, as well. I feel like we're just on a roll right now and we're going to keep on going."
Mizzou and Vanderbilt will kick off at 2 p.m. in Nashville on Oct. 30.
