One arrested after multi-agency drug bust in Boonville

Friday night, Cooper County Sheriff’s Deputies, Officers with the Boonville Police Department, and the East Central Drug Task Force issued a narcotics search warrant in Boonville. The warrant was for the 2500 block of Main Street.

During the search, officers seized methamphetamine, drug paraphernalia, as well as a firearm.

60-year-old Randall Benedict of Boonville was arrested during the operation. According to the Cooper County Sheriff’s Office, as of Sunday morning, Benedict was being held on a 24 hour hold while waiting for formal charges.

The East Central Drug Task Force as organized in 2001 and serves the cities of Bowling Green, Fayette, High Hill, Mexico, Montgomery City, New Florence, Warrenton, and Vandalia. It also serves the counties of Audrain, Cooper, Howard, Montgomery and Warren, along with the Missouri State Highway Patrol.
