Hallsville man arrested after chase through Centralia

A Hallsville man wanted for warrants in Boone and Audrain Counties was arrested in Centralia following a chase on Tuesday.

According to Centralia police, a sergeant saw Gregory Crites get into a vehicle near Columbia Street. At the time, Crites had warrants for domestic assault related to an incident involving his ex. The sergeant tried to stop Crites, but says Crites drove off; around 20 minutes later, Crites crashed into a ditch near Highway 151 in Audrain County.

At that point, according to police, Crites and two people in the vehicle with him ran away; Crites was caught about a half mile away, the other two turned themselves into police later.

Officers arrested Crites on suspicion of resisting arrest, harassment, and stealing.
