Mexico man arrested after gunfire reported early Sunday

Police in Mexico have arrested a man after getting reports of gunfire early Sunday morning.

At around 12:20 a.m., police responded to the 400 block of Jackson Street after witnesses reported shooting. They found and arrested Terrell Metts, 32, who apparently had a handgun with him at the time. He was booked into jail on suspicion of unlawful use of a weapon, unlawful possession of a weapon, possession of a controlled substance, and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Two days earlier, at around 8:30 p.m. on Friday, there was a call for shots fired in the 400 block of East Promenade. Witnesses say there was a fight in the road, during which someone fired a gun five or six times.

No one was hurt in either case, and it’s unclear if the two shootings are related.
