Cole County aims for ‘Agri-Ready’ status

Commissioners in Cole County filed an application to Missouri Farmers Care for an “Agri-Ready” designation.

It’s part of a program started last year aimed at fostering economic development in the agriculture industry in Missouri.

For a county to be designated, it must not impose any rules or requirements on the agriculture industry that are more strict than the state standards.

County leaders say the designation would be a great step toward economic growth.

Cole would be the fifth county designated.
