Columbia teenager arrested on suspicion of having child porn

A Columbia teenager has been arrested on suspicion of having child pornography, following an investigating by the Cyber Crimes Task Force in Boone County.

Authorities started investigating in March when the task force got a tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children. The tip suggested someone in the Columbia area had uploaded child porn in February.

The task force identified that person as Aaron Becker, who was living on the MU campus when the child porn was uploaded to an e-mail account. Officials say that account was used to store and transfer child porn for several years.

Becker, 18, was arrested Wednesday, and several electronic devices were confiscated from his home. Charges pending against him include possession of child pornography (less than 20 images) and two counts of possession of child pornography (more than 20 images or 1 video).
