Part of Business Loop shut down after driver crashes into pole

UPDATE (Sunday, 4:31 a.m.): Business Loop is now open.

Authorities shut down part of the Business Loop early Sunday morning after a car crash.

Our ABC 17 News crew on the scene said one lane of the Business Loop near Grand Ave is currently closed while crews clear the area.

Officials responded to the crash just after 12:30 a.m. Our reporter on the scene said the driver appeared to have crossed the center line before crashing into a pole. We’re working to confirm these details with officials.

Right now, it’s unclear whether alcohol was a factor in the crash, but our crews did see the driver being taken away in handcuffs.
