Climate Prediction Center Predicts Warmer Than Normal Temperatures for Second Half of April
After an upper level ridge moved into the region in the later half of the work week, temperatures have been anywhere from four to ten degrees warmer than average from Wednesday through Friday, with more abnormally high temperatures expected to continue into the weekend.
So far, for the month of April, six out of the fifteen days have experienced above average temperatures. The Climate Prediction Center has forecasted temperatures to persist at these above average levels even into the second half of the month.
From April 23rd to the 29th, Mid-Missouri is in the “Above Normal” category for temperatures. In fact, the southeastern two-thirds of Missouri has a 70% chance of seeing above average temperatures for this time period. By the end of April, the average temperature is 70 degrees. Thus, daytime highs are projected to warm to above those levels for the last week of April.
