JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. (KMIZ)

A New Bloomfield man pleaded guilty Wednesday after a shooting investigation in Jefferson City on March 27, 2020.

William Homfeldt-Nevins will get five years’ probation after he pleaded guilty to unlawful possession of a firearm.

Jefferson City police responded to a shooting in the 200 block of East McCarty Street. Officials reported finding multiple shell casings in front of a home on East McCarty Street. Later, a victim with a gunshot wound to the leg arrived at St. Mary’s Hospital.

A witness said that another man and a neighbor got into a fight and the man stated he was going to “shoot the place up,” according to court records. That man left the scene with his girlfriend but later returned and shot at the witness who was standing in front of a house.

Another witness says Homfeldt-Nevins was at the scene of the shooting and allegedly shot back at a car according to court documents.
