Columbia man charged with assault, sexual misconduct

Prosecutors have filed assault and sexual misconduct charges against Shannon Glasgow of Columbia for an incident on March 22.

According to court documents, Glasgow invited the two women to drink at his home on St. Charles Road. While one was outside, Glasgow followed the other into a bathroom, exposing himself in her face and touching her face with his genitals. The woman told him to stop, and he did at that moment.

When the woman left the bathroom, though, she says Glasgow shoved her onto his bed and exposed himself a second time. The woman said she was afraid Glasgow was going to rape her, so she got away and told the other woman, along with a third person, about what happened.

At that moment, the second woman got a tire iron from her car and hid it in her sleeve. When she went in to get the first woman’s belongings, Glasgow pushed her onto the bed. She, too, worried Glasgow would rape her, so she got out the tire iron and started hitting Glasgow with it. In response, Glasgow shoved her to and out the front door into the yard. That’s where she says he punched her with his fist numerous times, a statement supported by a witness at the home.
