Marginal Threat for Severe Storms Wednesday Evening

Temperatures will be warming Tuesday through Wednesday to the low 70s with a breezy west/southwest wind. Gusts from 25 to 35 will be possible both Tuesday and Wednesday afternoons. Low level winds will also be transferring some low level moisture to the area by early Wednesday morning. There will be a chance for rain early north of I-70 in the morning. The chance for storms will increase Wednesday evening ahead of an approaching cold front. Storms look to initialize as supercells. This could produce a tornado where these cells originate. Large, damaging hail of 1″ or greater also looks to be the main threat as the evening progresses. The timing looks to be after 4PM when storms move into western Mid-Missouri near HWY 65.
