Boil order ends in Kansas’ largest city

KMIZ

WICHITA, Kan. (AP) — Residents of Kansas’ largest city no longer need to boil their water. The Kansas Department of Health and Environment announced Saturday that it was rescinding the order that was put in place Thursday afternoon after a large water main break. It affected the city’s nearly 400,000 residents and some surrounding communities, leading to widespread school closures on Friday. Despite the good news in Wichita, some surrounding communities that receive their water from the city system remain under an advisory.
