Woman injured after getting legs trapped by vehicle

A woman ended up in the hospital after getting her foot trapped under her vehicle in Columbia. The accident happened Monday afternoon at the Gerbes grocery store on Paris Road.

According to firefighters at the scene, the woman was at loading groceries into her vehicle when it started rolling away. She tried to stop it, but her legs got trapped underneath.

Firefighters used inflatable rescue bags to lift the car off the woman’s foot to get her free. She was taken to a hospital with moderate injuries.
