Dry end to the week, showers & storms this weekend

Moisture streaming in ahead of a nearly stationary front will spread rain north east Wednesday night, mainly affecting areas near I-44 and south. Showers could spread as far north as HWY 54 but would be light with under a quarter inch of rain.

Rain moves completely out of Mid-Missouri by 8 AM Thursday and clouds will decrease through the afternoon. A cool northeasterly breeze will keep our afternoon temperatures in the upper 50s to near 60.

The dry weather lasts through Friday afternoon as temperatures climb back into the 60s. Another wave of lower pressure aloft is expected to move in from the south, bringing a few showers with it after 10 PM which will move north and into far northern Missouri by 8 AM Saturday.

The chance of showers and t-storms increases Saturday night as another upper wave moves through Mid-Missouri, sending rain into northern Missouri early Sunday. The final wave in this pattern moves through Sunday night, keeping our chance of a few showers going before we dry out to start the work week.
