Crews called about spreading flames from controlled burn

ABC 17 News has confirmed four units responded from the Boone County Fire Protection District after flames unexpectedly spread during a controlled burn near Rocheport.

Firefighters were called around 5:45 p.m. Monday to McGill Creek Road and Highway 40, about five miles from Rocheport just west of Columbia.

The outside fire briefly got out of control before crews contained it.
