UPDATE: Man in fair condition 2 weeks after being hit by car

Update, 2/28/16: Groff is now in fair condition.

UPDATE, 2/21/16: Groff is still in serious condition over a week after he was hit.

UPDATE, 10:00 p.m. 2/15/16: Eddie Groff is now in serious condition.

ORIGINAL STORY: A man was hit while crossing the street after pulling over to check out his car.

Eddie Groff had pulled over on Grindstone Parkway Saturday night around 7:30. According to police, he had pulled over after his Caravan began having mechanical issues.

Groff went to cross the street to call for help. As he was crossing, he was hit by a Cadillac Escalade.

Ann Devoy was driving the Escalade with a minor child.

Groff was taken to the University of Missouri Hospital with life threatening injuries. As of Sunday morning, Groff is in critical condition.

Devoy and the minor were not injured.
