Downtown St. Louis nightclub shut down for a year
ST. LOUIS (AP) — A downtown St. Louis nightclub that has been at the center of several shooting investigations is being shut down and boarded up for a year. The St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports that Reign Restaurant on Washington Avenue will have 30 days to vacate its premises once the order is posted. A city official called the club a “threat to public safety and welfare of the residents of this community.” For months, residents who live near the club have blamed it for fights in the street, broken bottles on the sidewalks and gunshots waking them up at night. Police have tied the club to a spate of shootings in August and early September.
