Apple vs. FBI: Apple fights court order
Tech giant Apple says it will fight a court order to help break into the iPhone of one of the San Bernardino attackers. A federal judge ordered Apple to help
the FBI bypass a self destruct feature in Syed Farook’s phone. Apple has made it very clear that this is can create dangerous backdoor for any potential
hacker to obtain.
In a statement to Apple customers, Apple CEO Tim Cook says the Government’s demands would undeniably create a backdoor, “while the government may argue that it’suse would be limited to this case, there is no way guarantee such control.”
Thinking that this tool could be used once, on one phone- is not true, “Once created, the technique could be used over and over again, on any number of device…it would be the equivalent of a master key, capable of opening hundreds of millions of locks.”
According to Missouri Civil Liberties Association, just because a terrorist/terrorism is involved doesn’t give the FBI the right to be able to access
personal data.
Apple has been cooperating with the FBI with any documents that are needed. The tech company believes that the FBI has good intentions, butstill believes that it undermines our freedoms and liberty.
