Final candidate forum held for diversity position at MU

The last of three forums featuring candidates up for a new University of Missouri position wrapped up Tuesday afternoon.

Tuesday’s forum featured Dr. G. Christine Taylor.

Taylor served as the inaugural Vice Provost for Diversity and Inclusion at Purdue.

While there, Taylor built the Division for Diversity and Inclusion. During her time, Purdue had the second largest or largest undergraduate international student population.

Taylor said no group should be left out from the table.

“It’s important. I believe to keep our hand on the pulse of what’s happening with all the students and bring everybody back into the conversation and discussion, there are going to be times when there are going to be issues with particular groups. Takes a lot of energy but I think our collective work is to be connected with those groups,” said Taylor.

The forums for the other two candidates, Paulette Granberry Russell and Kevin McDonald, were held last week.
