Columbia City Council to vote on park project, combining downtown properties

The Columbia City Council is set to meet Monday night and has a jam-packed agenda.

First, the Council will hear public comment and vote on a bill that would allow construction to start for phase two of the Douglas Park improvement project.

The park project would cost about $225,000 and is funded through the 2015 park sales tax.

Some of the improvements include new shelter spaces, ADA walkway improvements, lighting improvements, and a new playground.

The council is also set to vote on a bill that would combine parts of two lots in downtown Columbia.

These lots are where Quinton’s Bar and Deli and Britches clothing currently sit. This is the same land a developer wants to turn into a ten-story apartment complex.
