Columbia girl injured in car crash

A young girl was injured Thursday morning in a car crash in Boone County. According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, Nicole Thomson and her daughter Madeline were driving east on Route K when their SUV went off the road.

It hit an embankment and went airborne, eventually crashing onto Chamberlain Lane. That’s where it hit a second car, causing that vehicle to hit a stop sign.

Neither Nicole Thomson nor the other driver were hurt. Madeline, 4, was taken to University Hospital with serious injuries. Her condition was not available on Friday morning. Madeline was wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash.
