The Coldest Air of the Winter Season Thus Far Will Result in Dangerous Wind Chill Values Monday Morning

After a cold front brought a band of snow through the Mid-Missouri region Sunday morning, the focus now shifts to what will follow in its wake: bitterly cold temperatures.

As winds continue to usher in arctic air from the northwest, wind chill values tonight are expected to fall to about 15 to 20 degrees below zero for areas north of Highway 24. Due to this, the National Weather Service has issued a Wind Chill Advisory for Chariton, Randolph, and Macon counties until 9AM Monday morning.

Conditions this cold can lead to hypothermia if proper precautionary measures are not taken. A hat and gloves are highly recommended when outdoors and outdoor pets should be brought inside.
