Man arrested in connection to December armed robbery; Columbia SWAT team assists

An arrest has been made in connection to a December home invasion robbery.

Koran Spencer Ward, 19, was taken into custody on Friday after detectives were able to track stolen electronics to a residence in the 3500 block of Rock Quarry Road.

Last month, two suspects armed with fire arms forced entrance into a residence in the 1400 block of Grindstone Plaza Drive.

Due to the violent nature of the robbery, members of the Columbia Police SWAT Team were asked to assist in serving a search warrant at 3576 Rock Quarry Road.

During the search, officers made contact with Ward as well as three other occupants in residence. Officers also located some of the stolen electronics inside the home.

Ward was arrested for first degree robbery, armed criminal action and unlawful use of a weapon. He is currently in the Boone County Jail on a $100,000 bond.

The investigation remains open and on-going.
