Deputies arrest 2 after brief chase in north Boone County

Boone County Sheriff’s Deputies arrested two people Thursday after a brief pursuit north of Columbia.

The pursuit started just before 1:00 a.m. Thursday nearHighway VV near Farrar Drive.

Authorities said adeputy spotted a truck with a missing front license plate and tried to conduct a traffic stop. The pickup truck was apparently reported stolen in late December from East Deer Park Road.

Authorities said the driver of the stolen truck accelerated to a high rate of speed instead of pulling over. They said the truck eventually came to a stop in the 13600 block of Old Highway 63 North. Deputies then took both suspects into custody.

Authorities said the driver of the stolen truck was 38-year-old Daria Littleton. They said Littleton faces possible charges for Tampering, Receiving Stolen Property, Resisting Arrest, Possession of Burglary Tools and numerous Failure to Appear Warrants.

Authorities said they also arrested 36-year-old Richard Wright on suspicion of Receiving Stolen Property, Resisting Arrest, Possession of Burglary Tools, Unlawful Possession of Weapon, Tampering 2nd Degree, Forgery and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.
