Tracking a slow-moving front to start the week

showers and storms
KMIZ

MONDAY: A frontal boundary has stalled out across the area. There’s not a ton of cooler air with it, but it’ll be enough to fire up some storms this afternoon. Coverage looks to be pretty scattered after 3-4 PM, but will be enough to keep highs in the upper 80’s.

TONIGHT: That threat of some showers and storms will stay with us into tonight. Lows will fall into the upper 60’s.

EXTENDED: Another disturbance will dart down the backside of the front, firing up another round of storms for the late morning-early afternoon hours. That disturbance will give our front the boot to the south, bringing some better weather our direction. Highs on Wednesday and Thursday will make it back into the mid to upper 80’s, but the humidity will relax. High pressure responsible for that cooler-feeling weather will slide off to our east, bringing back some warm weather. Temperatures will hover around 90 Friday through the weekend, but we should stay dry.
