Jefferson City man sentenced for distributing heroin

A Jefferson City man was sentenced in federal court Wednesday for distributing heroin.

32-year-old Xavier Johnson was sentenced to 12 years and 7 months in prison without parole.

Johnson pleaded guilty to distributing heroin and possession with intent to distribute.

In July 2013, Johnson distributed $100 worth of heroin to someone who distributed it to an informant working with police.

More heroin was found in August 2013 during a search warrant of his girlfriend’s apartment.

Court documents said Johnson admitted to police that he distributed hundreds of grams of heroin per month between June 2013 and August 2013.
