Tracking above-average heat and more rain chances

Today: Temperatures continue to increase with sunny skies and winds out of the southwest. Dangerous heat will blanket Missouri this afternoon as the heat index will climb to 102 degrees.

Tonight: We will continue to see above-average temperatures with the overnight low bottoming out at 72 degrees. Winds will continue out of the southwest at 5-10 mph with mostly clear skies.

Extended: Saturday will be another warm day with highs in the mid-'90s and mostly clear sky conditions. Sunday begins our first day of scattered storms and showers chances as a low-pressure system moves into the area bringing Central Missouri increased moisture. Highs will be in the upper 80s next week with chances of scattered storms and showers every day.
