Jefferson City man sentenced to prison after shooting

A Jefferson City man was sentenced to five years in prison after pleading guilty to a March 2020 shooting in the 200 block of McCarty Street.

JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. (KMIZ)

A Jefferson City man was sentenced to five years in prison after pleading guilty to a March 2020 shooting in the 200 block of McCarty Street.

29-year-old Michael Tripplett pleaded guilty to second-degree assault and armed criminal action.

One victim was hospitalized for a gunshot wound to the leg. Nobody else was injured.

A second person, Ramonda Noldon, who witnesses say was Triplett's girlfriend, was also charged in the shooting.

Noldon was charged with unlawful use of a weapon.

Noldon is scheduled to appear in court next month.
