Wet morning commute Friday
Moisture is moving into Mid-Missouri ahead of an area of low pressure aloft which has been moving slowly east from the southwestern states. Showers will move into western Missouri after midnight, spreading east through the morning.
The morning commute will be cool, wet and breezy as rain increases from daybreak through late morning. Showers will decrease through the afternoon as the main band of moisture moves east. Temperatures will stay near 70 in the afternoon under mostly cloudy skies.
The start of most high school football games Friday evening will be dry but the chance of showers will increase as we head through the evening. The cold front will move into northwestern Missouri by late-evening Friday with widely scattered showers and a few storms developing out ahead of it. These will move through Mid-Missouri from 10pm in our northwestern counties, heading southeast overnight to near I-44 by 8 AM Saturday and ending.
Rainfall amounts of a quarter to half inch are expected through early Saturday with a half inch to an inch possible mainly west of HWY 63.
