Officials plan meeting to make street improvements in central Columbia

Columbia officials are trying to improve certain streets in central Columbia, and they’re asking for the public’s help. Officials are holding a neighborhood meeting this weekend near Garth and Sexton.

The city is planning to buy several properties in the area, including Oak and Lynn Street.

New parks might be added, along with playgrounds, local gardens, or street lighting.

Residents can stop by Saturday at the community center at 609 N. Garth from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m.

Officials expect to have more details about where they’re buying before the end of the year.
