Wet, Stormy Weather Returns Later This Week
As we make our way into another work week, we will start off with a dry and calm weather pattern that will gradually transition into a wet and unsettled one as a frontal passage is expected to slide through our region later in the week.
Forecasting models are in good agreement that the frontal passage will begin its push through our region on Thursday morning and into Friday. This will bring the return of showers and thunderstorms to our area.
In terms of severe weather, the shear and instability associated with this front aren’t looking strong enough to make severe weather a likely possibility. The main concern will be heavy rain. Quantitative precipitation forecasts are indicating we will see about .25″ to .50″ of rainfall, with pockets of heavier amounts.
Once this front passes through, temperatures are expected to return to levels that are more typical of early October.
