Iberia water pipe repaired after eight years

Earlier in September, ABC 17 went to Iberia to talk to Ruby Ash about a broken water pipe under the street in front of her house.

After ABC 17 News made calls to local lawmakers and the Department of Natural Resources, the water seeping out of Walnut Street in Iberia has stopped.

Tuesday, crews came to repair the underground pipe.

Crews told Ash the pipe was broken, and about 40 years old.

Ash told ABC 17 the pipe had been leaking for the past eight years and running off on to her driveway and lawn.
