Storm System Brings Stormy Weather and Cooler Temperatures Next Week

After a warm and humid Labor Day Weekend, Mid-Missouri will see a relief from the heat next week, but not before enduring a couple rounds of storms first.

A low pressure system that is currently located in Nebraska and South Dakota will begin to move east, causing its associated cold front to push through the Midwest. Models are predicting it will begin to push through northwestern Missouri Sunday night into Monday morning. The front’s southeastward descent will be slow, causing it to linger over Missouri for a span of three days. This will bring a descent chance for storms Monday through Thursday, with the best chance of storms occurring Tuesday and Wednesday.

A second front will slide through the region Thursday into Friday. While storm chances will linger for Thursday, cooler air will filter in behind this front by Friday, dropping temperatures into the 70s for next weekend.
