United Way kicks off community campaign in Jefferson City

The United Way of Central Missouri kicked off its community campaign Thursday.

The organization has a goal of raising $1.8 million this year, $50,000 more than last year.

At a kickoff luncheon Thursday, United Way organizers announced that local businesses and partners have already raised 48% of this year’s goal through its Pacesetters campaign.

The campaign will support 28 agencies, programs, and initiatives in the Jefferson City community.
