Moberly fast food restaurant closes due to fire

A Randolph County fast food restaurant is now closed due to a fire.

The Sonic off North Morley in Moberly caught fire early Tuesday morning at around 2:30.

Investigators traced the cause back to a possible short in an electrical cord.

Insurance adjusters were on scene Tuesday, and the restaurant needs to be inspected before it’s reopened.

Damage was estimated at about $15,000.
