Connor Bazelak continues growth through fall camp
COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)
The Mizzou football team already has the first six practice of fall camp in the books and head coach Eli Drinkwitz said that Connor Bazelak just continues to improve.
You can watch extended highlights from Thursday's practice in the video player below.
It will be Bazelak's first year as the definite QB1 for the Tigers, as last year he was in a preseason battle for the position.
"Last year I was still, kind of, learning the offense in a quarterback competition, so I was more worried about that," Bazelak said. "But this year, I'm able to focus on my guys and getting everything right."
You can watch full interviews with multiple players, including Bazelak, in the video players below.
The quarterback finished the 2020 season with an average of about 238 yards per game and seven total passing touchdowns. However, his offensive line said they can see the changes and confidence in the Bazelak.
"You know when he steps out onto the field that he's locked in and he's ready to go," offensive lineman Luke Griffin said. "He came in in January and from January until now, there's just a huge difference. I mean, he's put on muscle, he's put on good pounds, so I think he's going to be ready."
